Another nice weekend. Couldn’t ask for better weather for this time of the year. Guess it’s to stay like this most of the week, other than being cold. But, I bet Puxatawney Phil will probably still see his shadow on the 2nd. We’ll still have six weeks of winter, whether he does or not.
Sympathy from the community to the family of Dorothy (Bushofsky) Stanley who passed away on the 19th. She had a summer home in Lopez. Funeral and burial will be in Florida, where she resided.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
The 48th annual Che-Hanna Rock and Mineral show is coming up on Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26. Check out information under events on Face Book. Lots of good things and this year it’s in a new place. It will be held at the Wysox Volunteer Fire Company.
I know there will be things going on around the County that I’m not really aware of, so check the Sully for those things you may be interested in. I know the Kiwanis Winterfest is coming up in February with lots of things there to see and do. Check out their website: sckiwanis.com to see what’s happening.
Don’t think the toboggan slide will be up and running this year. I think it’s been a little too warm to have the lake frozen to the proper depth of the ice to make the slide. Don’t know for sure, so watch the Sully on this.
HINT: “Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it home and can’t digest it so it kills them. May take a week or so, especially if it rains, but it does work and doesn’t bother pets or small children.” (Sometimes there are lots of ants, sometimes none are seen.)
Happy Birthday to Kyra Vinetelli and Brian Dendler, both on February 1st; Dee Whatley, 4th; Helen (Maximiak) Amon, 5th; and Alex Aharonian, 11th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Uncle “B”, Pop-Pop and Gramma send special birthday wishes to Tyler McGuire, who will turn 16 on the 2nd. Have a great day. Wow!! Times flies and now it will be getting a license and starting to drive.
I think that’s all for now. Enjoy your week; should be pretty nice. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. I’ll be here next time and thanks for reading.
