December 5, 2018
The weather has been a bit better lately. We had some clouds and some sun on Thursday. The weekend wasn’t too bad, but did have rain. The snow has almost melted from the grass. Sunday it did manage to get up to 54 degree with a misty rain. I heard the week is to be storm free, but cold. I’ll take that.
Thanks to Clair Johnson, Heather, Kaeleigh and Kyleigh McDonald and Bob and JoAnn McGuire for doing the decorating at the Monument and the Pavilion on Saturday. Mother Nature was kind to us. The day was not rainy, snowy, cold, or windy and we got done pretty fast. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did getting it ready for the Christmas and New Year Holiday. Will be left on until after Orthodox Christmas.
There are a lot of decorations around town and around the County for all to enjoy.
Civic dues are due by the end of December for the new year. To pay yours, or become a member, see Heather McDonald.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Thanks to Bob McGuire for making the frame and wire covers for our Lopez sign. Now the wind doesn’t blow our letters all over town. Looks good.
Congratulations to Dustin and Gaige Burke who were lucky hunters. Good luck to the rest of you who are out there trying to get your deer.
No Civic meetings until March 2019.
Happy Birthday wishes to Elexus Dunkleberger, 6th; Tony Sneider, Jr. and Robyn McCobin, both on the 8th; Andrea (Matychak) Anderson and Irena Pochatko, both on the 12th. Hope you all have a nice day.
HINT: “Before you store a cooler after summer use, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda into it and stuff with crumpled newspapers to prevent a musty smell. Try to store with the lid open to allow air to circulate. When ready to use again, dump the baking soda into the sink drain. Run water and the drain will be refreshed.”
Guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week; should be quite nice, I hope. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
The snow covered everything in a layer of fluffy white.
