August 5, 2020
Great week, weather wise again. We did have a couple of days that it rained, but not enough to do much. We do need rain…..everything is so dry. Gardens seem to be doing well and producing and the flowers are so pretty. The weekend was perfect for quad riding, picnics, pools and get-togethers. There were even a couple of golf carts driving around taking in the scenery and visiting folks. Even going for walks when the sun went down was nice. I did hear we are to get rain a few days this week. We were to get rain all day on Sunday and we never got a drop. So, we just have to go day by day.
Joe and Diane Fanning, along with Molly, spent a few days at their home here to get some yard work done and do some relaxing.
Adel Bradshaw also enjoyed a few days at her home.
Next Civic meeting will be on WEDNESDAY, August 19th, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion.
Gerry and Paula Weslowski spent the weekend at their place here and visited daughter, Nina, and Brian McGuire.
Tent City had their annual reunion over the weekend. Many campers were there, even for the whole week. Good time for all. Enjoyed the amazing fireworks on Saturday night.
We still have a few early years of Lopez mugs. If interested contact me at the information below for details. If you’d like to be put on the reserve list for 2021, let me know.
Happy Birthday to Randy Lebo and Mary Lowden, 10th; Kari Spinosa, 11th; Al Kapler, 12th; and Lisa Beaver, 13th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Not much to report as to activities going on in the County. Everything is pretty much canceled for the time being. Social distancing is in practice, as well as wearing face masks. I’m sure everyone is being cautious about going out when necessary. Hopefully, this will change in the next months. Don’t forget about washing your hands.
Guess that’s about it. Enjoy your week. It’s to be pretty nice, even if we do get the much needed rain. Let the kids get out and jump in the puddles. We did that as kids and it was so much fun. Only do that if it’s not thunder and lightning. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. I’ll be here next time and thanks for reading. Comments always appreciated.
