September 21, 2016
Saturday was not a bad day; kinda cool and cloudy. Sunday was something else. Started out cloudy and cool; then we started to get the rain about 6 p.m. It would rain hard, quit, rain hard again. By midnight we had close to two inches and it was still pouring at that time. Don’t know what the total amount turned out to be, but it sure is needed so what we get is good. There was some thunder and lightning, but not a lot. We were lucky as I did hear that Muncy got hit quite hard with a damaging storm. Didn’t really get the news, so don’t know what the week’s weather will bring. Guess we’ll have to take whatever we get. Wednesday is the first day of Autumn and someone said we may get some Indian summer yet; don’t like what comes after that.
Got a call from Roseanne Lukachik who has a cat missing. So, be on the look-out for a Manx cat called Kitty, male, about 8 pounds, black with white and yellow tint, white belly and chest, two white pads on front feet and back legs are all white. If you see this cat, please call Roseanne at 570-928-9067. I think he’ll even come to you if you call him. Hopefully, he’ll turn up soon.

HINT: “Sprinkle salt on shelves as a repellent to keep ants away (safer than many bug killers)”.
Another use for salt: “Create a paste that consists of salt, vinegar and flour and you have the perfect cleaner for brass, copper and pewter”.
From Mr. Neubauer’s little brown book: September 18, 1973, rain and 56 degrees. Guess that about says it for the same date now; could have gotten a little warmer than 56 degrees later in the day.
Guess that’s it for this time. Enjoy your week; even a little rain won’t hurt you, so get out. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time. Keep the hints coming; I do get a lot of comments on them and some and been tried and work; a few have not worked, but I guess that’s life, right. Win some; lose some; goes with the flow.
