Hope you all had a nice weekend. Looks like a rainy week coming up. I guess the gardens and flowers are winding down. From those I talked to, the gardens didn’t do as well this year. I don’t even think the apples and berries did really well. I did hear it’s going to be a very cold winter, but with not a lot of snow. Guess we have to wait and see and take what we get. I think most of the hummers have left for warmer weather. We have just a couple of stragglers now and then at the feeder.
TJ, Alison and Jase Lowden, along with Wesson, Marlton, NJ, spent a few days at their home here. They also visited his parents, Ted and Mary, on Maple Terrace. Was a nice weekend.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale the first and third Sunday of each month, at the Church Hall, from Noon to 1 p.m. Call 570-928-8909 to order yours.
Don’t forget the Bowhunter’s Festival is coming up this weekend. Always something fun to do there. Check the Sully to see if there’s something else going on that you might enjoy also.
Cooler weather will be here before we know it. Get your Lopez retro hoodies and sweatshirts so you’ll be warm when the time comes. Contact me at the information below, if interested.
Happy birthday to JoAnn McDonald and Carmela Walosin, 19th; Mya Evans, 20th; Roland Dayton, 21st; and Bob Day, 23rd. Hope you all have a nice day.
Tent City had quite a few down there, getting campers winterized and some taken home until next year. There will be some that will be back and forth for hunting.
Not much to report this time. Enjoy your week; can’t be all bad. I know Covid cases keep going up, so do your thing: wear the mask, practice social distancing and wash your hands often. And, don’t forget to support your local businesses. We can only pray that we will get through this and it will finally be a thing of the past.
If you have news you’d like in the paper, give me a call at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com, before 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. I will do my best to put it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time. Stay well; stay safe.
