How was your weekend? Had some pretty good rain storms, but then would turn out nice. Hail, rain, wind, everything on Friday. Saturday had some rain and Sunday just a few spritzes as I typed my news. Gardens are really taking hold with the moisture and the flower beds are looking good too. I hear we are to get rain until about Tuesday and it will still be hot and humid. Fine with me as ya know what’s coming eventually.
Next 4-H Rocketry meeting will be on Monday, July 31st, 2:30 p.m. at the Extension Office in Dushore. Things are coming along for the big 50th launch on August 12th. All you alumni, have your rocket ready? Should be a good time.

Old Home Days are coming up soon. First weekend in August will be a fun time for all with games, hay rides, dunk tank, Bingo, foods, refreshments, DJ “B” on Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight and an EPIC fireworks display at dark on Saturday. Sunday will offer most of the same. Hope you can make it.

HINT: The hint I put in last week about the bug spray, I got a response from Alex , Palm Bay, FL. Here is what he said: “We use the blue mouthwash bug spray mix here in Florida and it does work. It seems to last at least a couple of weeks.” (Nice to know something did work. Thanks, Alex.)
Guess that’s it for now. Enjoy your week, whatever you may do. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
WEBMASTER NOTE:
Lopez Old Home Days would be a great time for reunions of students that went to the Lopez school that was where the big pavilion now sits. The classes were not that large and many are now not with us, but those that are might get together on Sunday August 6th to say hello, talk over old times and maybe we can get a photo of those in each class.
On another note, there are a few Lopez mugs available for 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
