Was a really hot and humid weekend.  Some places got buckets of rain, thunder and lightning.  We got some thunder, no rain at all.  Sure do need the rain for the gardens, creeks and getting wells filled.  Last I heard the week is to be warm again with no rain, other than Monday and Tuesday that have already passed.

Mountain Steak, the new eatery on Route 118, owned and operated by Stacey Olsen is now open seven days a week.  They now have a kids menu; you can eat in or outside at a picnic table.  If you’re down that way, stop in to check them out and enjoy a good meal.  It’s just at the bottom of Red Rock Mountain.   The website is www.mountainsteak.com.  Check it out.

Duane and Patty Johnson were at their cabin on Turreltown Road during the Fourth of July weekend.  They had a big Mama bear and her cub playing in the yard and they have been hanging around since.  Happy belated birthday to Patty, whose birthday was on the 9th.  Hope you had a good day.

Bob, Jr. and Tyler McGuire, Hunlock Creek, were up on Sunday to visit Bob and JoAnn McGuire.  Tyler stayed and is spending a few days here on vacation.  He likes going to the creek, being outside and doing electric projects.

Next 4-H Model Rocketry meeting will be on Monday, the 25th, 2 p.m. at the Extension Office in Dushore.

Bob and JoAnn McGuire enjoyed their Che-Hanna Mineral Club picnic on Sunday in Litchfield.  Weather was nice, food was good and lots of fun for the day with games and visiting.
