Another snow fall as I sit and type my news at 11 p.m. on Sunday evening. I would guess we have about 4 inches so far and it’s the soft, puffy kind, but is piling up. Many school delays and closings. Most of last week was cold and the wind is always with us. Mother Nature sure isn’t on our side and I think the groundhog made a “goof” also. I think the kids will enjoy sledding again since it seems like we’ll get enough snow.
LAST chance to reserve your 2019 Lopez mug, if you haven’t done so. The order will be going out shortly, so if you’re interested, contact Bob at the info below. It will be VFW Fire Hall. Don’t miss out.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099. The Church ladies had a nice breakfast on Sunday with good food and good visiting. If you missed this one, keep an eye out for the next one. You sure didn’t go home hungry.
FLASH: Turn your clocks AHEAD one hour on Saturday before going to bed. Hopefully, that will be a sign that Spring is on the way.
HINT: “Homemade Oxi-Clean – 1 cup peroxide, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup baking soda. Mix and use 2 TBSP per load of wash.”
Civic meeting on Tuesday, the 19th, 6 p.m. at the Township Building.
Happy Birthday wishes to Janelle Day, 9th; Ruby Malkemes and Tally (McGee) Tierney, 10th; Julien Bonner, 11th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Tyler McGuire sends special birthday wishes to his Pop-Pop, Bob, as he celebrates on the 13th.
Keep an eye on the Sully for things that may be going on in the County that you might be interested in.
Guess that’s about it for now from my snowy back yard. Enjoy your week, even if you have to go out with your boots, heavy coat and gloves. You will be getting some nice, fresh air. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Still need some hints. I did get a few from Carole (Fedorchak) Underwood which I will be using. I’ll be here next time and thanks for reading.

Wednesday March 6th and ‘GLOBAL WARMING’ is rearing it ugly head again with -5.6 degrees. Now you have to be aware of the fact that I am in the warmer part of Lopez and the heat/cold detector is just outside of my window (which is probably contributing some heat to the unit). I don’t know what the temp is down around Dyer”s or Finan’s, but that where the low lows congrigate. That’s it from the ICEBOX.
