Had some “iffy” weather last week. Clouds, rain, and that ever present wind. Sunday morning started out with a frosty 29 degrees, but did turn out quite nice for the day. Hopefully, some warmer weather is on the way to stay. I see those that did plant some of the garden, covered it hoping the frost doesn’t kill everything they planted.
Congratulations to our Lopez graduates: Kaeleigh McDonald, Dylan Sylfies, Ruby Malkemes and Serena Armioia. Good luck in whatever you may do.
Congratulations also to Tessa Chapman and Alethia Copp who graduated from 6th grade and will be going into 7th. Good job to all.
Tyler McGuire, Liverpool, NY, spent a nice weekend here with his Dad, Bob, Jr. On Sunday they had a cookout with us, Uncle “B”, and Nina Weslowski. Weather was really nice and we got to play some ladder golf. Family time is always nice.
Happy Birthday wishes to Lydia Stasiak, 5th; Lynn Malkemes, 8th; and Matt Dayton, 10th. Hope you all have a nice day.
4-H Model Rocketry will be starting on June 15th, 6 p.m. at the Extension Office. If interested in joining, check the Rocketry site or call Bob McGuire at the number below.
Congratulations to Jane Swift who is retiring as Educator at Worlds End State Park on June 12, after 28 years there. She sure was a wonderful person working there and did many programs, especially for kids. Bob did many fluorescent mineral programs there. We wish her the best of luck on her retirement.
Did you know you can set your hair with beer to give it body? Dampen the hair and roll. The hair will not retain the beer odor when dry. (Beer is not only for drinking.) Also, when pinning up your hair, a quick way to dampen it is to fill a spray bottle with water and spray the hair wherever needed.
Don’t forget to check out Eloise Caseman’s “joke of the day” in her Shunk column. She has some pretty good ones in there for your “laugh” of the day.
Guess that’s it. Enjoy your week, whatever your plans. Have news, give me a call at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. Will get it in for you, if you get it to me by 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
