What a nice, bright, sunny day on this Monday as I type my news. We did have some rain on Saturday, but that didn’t have any effect on the activities going on around the County and there were many. Hope you enjoyed whatever you were able to take in. Weather for the week, from what I’ve heard and seen, is to be very hot and humid, with higher than normal temperatures. We will see. It changes hourly and daily, so we have to take what we get. Looks like the gardens and flowers are doing really well. The rain that we did have sure did help.
Happy Birthday wishes to Brandan McCobin, 4th; Brayson Siddle, 5th; Bill Stasiak and Bryson Charles, both on the 6th. Hope you all have a great day.
Happy Anniversary to Mike and Heather McDonald and Jeffrey and Kristin (McDonald) Mensch, both on the 7th. Have a nice day and many more happy days ahead.
Hope you all have a really nice 4th of July holiday. Please be careful on the roads and what out for “the other guy” when traveling. It will be a busy time. If you are doing fire works, please be very careful so accidents don’t happen. Celebrate the 250th with pride.
For a quick oven prepared dinner, make your regular meat loaf and bake as usual. The last few minutes, pile mounds of fluffy whipped potatoes on top of the meat, turn down the oven and let the potatoes get a light brown color. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Different and unusual, but very good.
Enjoy your week, whatever your plans. Hopefully no rain to spoil the Holiday with many things planned again for that weekend. Have news, give me a call at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa. I will get it in for you. Still waiting for any good hints or your favorite recipe you’d like to share. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
Hi folks, This is the Lopez web master and looking for help. The story is, sometime about 1948 to 1952 ish time slot, my cousins Dorothy and Marian took me to the Turnpike school auditorium for one of the first early rock bands that were on tour. There were about five guys and a girl or two that performed. The question is, does anyone remember it or might have info on that event as to who they were and when the rock show was. I believe it is the only time a touring rock group ever hit Sullivan County. Thank you, Bob web master.
