Raining again on Monday morning. Had a couple good thunder storms on Saturday and Sunday, but activities still went on and were enjoyed by all. It was very hot and humid a few days too, with temperatures in the high 90’s. I know there were many seasonal homes and cabins being used over the Holiday weekend. Had some nice fire works around town, between the storms, which were pretty amazing. It was really windy and there was damage done all over the County, with some places worse than others. There are still power outages and it’s hoped those without power will be restored soon. I see there is to be rain most of the week. Gardens and flowers will do well.
On Friday afternoon as Clair Johnson was going through town, he saw a big black bear down on Main Street. Said he thought the bear was headed to the creek. They are around, so be on the alert and keep an eye on your garbage cans and bird feeders.
Hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Fourth with family and friends.
Happy Birthday to Patty Johnson, 9th; Samantha Burke, 10th; Dan Stasiak, 11th; Averie Bahr, 13th; and David Black, 14th. Have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to David and Lavonne Black as they celebrate on the 14th. Enjoy your day.
4-H Model Rocketry meeting will be held on Monday, 13th, 6 p.m. at the Extension Office in Dushore.
Tyler McGuire, Liverpool, NY, spent the Holiday weekend here with his Dad, Bob, Jr. and us and Uncle “B” and Nina Weslowski. Enjoyed a cookout on Saturday, despite the rain. Got to watch some awesome fireworks. Didn’t get to do some things planned, but was a nice time having him home.
This sounds strange, but I’m going to try it, so I don’t have to stand over the stove and stir pudding forever. Probably most of you don’t even use the cooked pudding because Instant is much easier. When making boxed puddings, mix the dry pudding with one egg and set that aside. Put the milk in a heavy pan on the stove. When the milk almost reaches the boiling point, turn the heat down and pour the pudding mixture into the milk, stirring briskly. This will, hopefully, give you smooth pudding in about 30 seconds. (I’m gonna see if that is going to work.)
Keep an eye on the Sully for more activities coming up in the next few weeks. I’m sure there will be something that you’ll be able to take part in or just enjoy watching. I guess that’s it for now. Have news, give me a call at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Hope you enjoy reading all the news columns that these reporters take time to give you the “doings” that went on and up-coming events. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
