Had a nice warm up for a few days last week. Sun felt nice and it was good to see 40 degree temperatures. Saturday and Sunday were another story. It was chilly, cloudy and windy. Sunday around 7:15 p.m. we had quite a snow squall; they don’t last long but they can really put down the white stuff. Last I heard there is a storm coming on Thursday and one on Sunday. We will wait and see what happens at that time.
Congratulations to Kyler Burke. Her Winter Residency at Wilkes College has been completed. She is now the proud owner of a Master’s degree in Creative Writing and her first complete manuscript. Kyler writes for the Sully. If you haven’t read her articles, do so. They are so good.
Happy birthday to Irene (Huray) Pequignot, 22nd.
Happy Anniversary to Alex and Ginny Stavisky as they celebrate (in sunny FL) on the 22nd.
Happy Anniversary to Albert and Jeannie Kapler as their celebration is the 23rd.
Congratulations to both couples and many years of wedded bliss.
There will be up-coming events going on as the months progress. Keep and eye on the Sully for things happening that you may be interested in. One coming up in March is the 56th annual Che-Hanna Rock and Mineral Club show. I’ll up-date more as the time gets closer. Mark your calendar now for the 28th and 29th of March.
I hear there are still some viruses going around. Hope to hear you all feel much better. I’ve been seeing reports of folks being sick for 10 days and said it’s not fun at all. Gotta get rid of those germs and be virus free.
I see some local folks attended the PA Farm Show in Harrisburg over the weekend. Hope you all had an enjoyable time. Hope Eloise came home with some winning ribbons.
When making pastry for pie crust, add a pinch or two of baking powder to the dry ingredients before adding the water and mixing. Makes the pastry flaky.
Pour a little vinegar into your empty mayonnaise and mustard jars. Shake vigorously until the jars are clean. Put mixture aside until making potato salad or cole slaw. One way to utilize what is left in the jars.
I think that’s it for this time. Enjoy your week. Always something to keep you busy. Have news, give me a call at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
