Good morning!! As I sit here Monday morning doing my news, there is a red sky out there and it’s pretty chilly. Does that mean something? We did have all kinds of weather during the week; some rain, some flurries, some sun. We take what we get. There are places that are having bad weather. Reports are of a warm up during the week. We shall see.
Congratulations to Jarrett and Katie (Shoemaker) Higley on the birth of their baby daughter on the 30th of October. Charlie is now a big sister. Lots of fun in the future for all.
Bob and I, along with Clair Johnson were invited to attend the 100th birthday party for Mr. Ferdie Marek, held at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. Many family, relatives and friends were there to help him celebrate this milestone. For 100 years young, Mr. Marek looks pretty darn good. He was so glad to visit and see everyone that really made his day.
Happy Birthday to Serenity Laird and Reese Baton on the 23rd; Parker Schiele, 24th; and Cassidy Brown, 30th. Hope you all have a good day.
Brian McGuire and Nina Weslowski spent a few days in Boston, MA, to attend the wedding of Nina’s cousin. A great time was had by all.
Keep an eye on the Sully for activities going on around the County. Always something of interest for you to enjoy. I see some Thanksgiving decorations going up around town. With the wind we’ve been having, it’s kinda hard to keep things from blowing to Peoria.
Before we know it, November will be over and into the month of December. Where does the time go. Just gotta hang in there. As our friend, Gordon Papke always said, “Spring is just around the corner”. We just have to find the corner.
Stay well, everyone, and stay warm with this colder weather. After all, it is Lopez.
Guess that’s it for this time. Enjoy your week. Have news, give me a call at 570-928-9238; “snail” mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time. Think I’ll go have a cup of hot cocoa to warm up.
