Hope you all had a good week. Wasn’t too bad. We did get some much needed rain. We had some hot, humid days. The weekend was perfect for whatever you chose to do. More hot weather coming, but that’s ok with me. I see the gardens and flowers are doing well. My neighbor told me the weeds are doing almost better than the plants. Takes a lot of work to keep a garden in shape.
Happy Birthday to Evalyn Lansberry and also Sr. Ella Mae McDonald, both on the 20th; and to Matt Beaver, 21st. Have a fantastic day.
A few weeks back, I mentioned about putting fitted sheets on the bed an easy way. Put one corner of the sheet on the mattress, then go to the opposite corner and then do it again and then do the other opposite corners. I did try this and it worked quite well for me. No struggling when I used to put the top on first and then go to the bottom. So, I did have one good hint, even if it was for me.
Looks like a lot of the summer homes are being used for vacations. With the nice weather, it’s good to come and enjoy country living. And, there is always something to do.
Here’s something for you to try. When boiling potatoes, add a teaspoon of vinegar of fresh lemon juice to make them snowy white. Use an electric mixer and add water (not milk) and LOTS of butter for more fluffiness. (I’m gonna try this. Can’t hurt.)
With the nice weather, there will be things going on around the County. Keep an eye on the Sully and also the news columns (Connie, Eloise and Carol) to see what you may be interested in. Don’t know who writes the Dushore news, but check that out too. There are quite a few ads to check out too, for all kinds of stuff.
Hope you all aren’t bothered with that new “virus” that is going around. It’s no fun and sometimes worse than the regular type flu. They don’t even have a specific cause and no shot to give. Just has a big, high falutin’ name.
I guess I’m done for this time. Enjoy your week, whatever your plans. If you’d like your news in the paper, give me a call at 570-928-9238; mail me (USPS); see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Need it by 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. I’ll be here next time and thanks for reading.
