Hope you all enjoyed your Mother’s Day. Was a little cool and rainy, but the sun did shine and turned out nice. I hear there is going to be a wide spread frost for a few days. Will Mother Nature ever give us good weather. Now, instead of planting after Memorial Day, I heard to wait until after the first week in June, and who knows if that’s enough. I see rabbits and a couple deer. We have a “woody” who has been around for a while. Cute to watch but they can really do damage to the garden.
Happy Birthday to Jase Lowden and Faith Williams, 14th; Cory McDonald and Deacon Burke, 15h; Ariella Siddle, 18th; and Marian Hubiak 19th. Hope you all have a nice day.
The hummers have arrived. We have one that we’ve been watching for a couple of weeks. Ted Lowden had one on his porch the other day so was preparing to put out the feeder. The birds are building nests to bring the babies into the world. Fun to see them flying back and forth to the nest. We have a nest in a very odd place, but they seem to like it, and no one bothers them.
Bob and I enjoyed our Che-Hanna appreciation dinner on Friday evening at Yanuzzi’s in Waverly, NY. Good food, good service, and good time for all who were there. Got in a lot of visiting and making plans for our up-coming events. If you want a really good place to eat, try it out. You won’t be disappointed.
I found out something today that I did not know that is very interesting. When a crow is sick, it will find an ant hill and lay on that. The ants come up out of the hill and take the bugs and sickness away from the crow. When they are done, the crow flies away.
For those who have picnic tables outside and don’t like using your good tablecloths, buy a shower curtain and use pinking shears to snip off all the edges. If it is too long, you can use what is left over to line bathroom shelves. Neat idea. If you have a hint or something special that you do, please send it to me and I’ll put it in. Might be something that someone else can use or do.
I guess I’m done for now. Enjoy your week. You may still need the heavy coat and maybe gloves too. We will get through this. I’m really giving Mother Nature a good talk about some nicer weather. If you have news, give me a call at 570-928-9238, mail me (USPS), see me or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
