Weather sure did change the past week. Had some really nice, warm, sunny days. Saturday and Sunday were cold, windy and we had some snow showers early Sunday morning. Here it is Monday morning and it’s still cold and windy with very light snow on the vehicles. Sure hope all the flowers and trees that were budding don’t get killed now. The week, I heard, is to be rainy and maybe a few more snow showers. Guess Mother Nature isn’t done with us yet and have to take what she gives us.
Happy Birthday wishes to round out the month of April include Leni Sonon, 24th; Katherine Kapler, 25th; Mickie Mowery, 26th; and David Spinosa 28th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Keep an eye on the Sully for more events coming up. Nicer weather is on the way, I’m sure, so there may be something you might be interested in.
Pretty soon folks will be getting their gardens and flower beds ready for planting. Usually waiting until after Memorial Day is a good idea because we may still get frost until then.
For those who will be using their grill during the nice weather, coat the grill with vegetable oil before cooking and clean as soon as it has cooled. Wipe the grill with crumpled aluminum foil while it is still slightly warm. Or, you can cover the grill with several layers of wet newspaper while it is still hot and then use the paper to wipe the grill when cooled.
Something for the kids: Keep plenty of popcorn on hand. Invent flavors by adding grated Parmesan cheese, seasoned salt, chocolate chips, or peanuts.
Don’t have much to report, so enjoy your day, whatever you may do. Might need a heavy jacket during the week. Can’t put them away yet. If you have news you’d like me to add, please call me before 6 p.m. on Sunday evening at 570-928-9238; mail me (USPS); see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
