How you all doing? Hope all is well and you’re enjoying each day as it comes. Our power, and I guess all of Sullivan County, was half off Wednesday evening about 8:45 p.m. and came back on sometime on Thursday (I don’t remember when). We had a brown out situation where the lights kept flickering and then went to half power. Some things worked and some didn’t. Was an eerie feeling. When the power did go to full, there were a lot of things that had to be re-set. Had some rain Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Always a lot of wind and frosty days too. I see reports of snow coming during the week. Not a lot, but a little is even too much yet. Can’t do anything about it, just gotta suck it up and deal with it!
Sorry I missed mentioning last week about Veteran’s Day programs going on around the County on the 11th. Hope you got to attend at least one, or maybe more, of them. Thank a Veteran for his service in protecting our Country.
HAPPY, HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY TO MR. FERDIE MAREK AS HE CELEBRATES ON THE 12th. God Bless and stay healthy for more birthdays to come.
Happy Birthday to Aiden Sperry, 13th; Castiel Williams, 15th; Alek Laird, 19th; and Mike McDonald, also the 19th. Have a good day, all of you.
Happy Anniversary to TJ and Alison Lowden as they celebrate on the 17th. Have a fantastic day and many more.
Have you read the Halloween story in the last two Sully’s. They were written by Kyler Burke and were quite interesting and funny. Thanks, Kyler, for such a good job and sharing with all.
A rule of thumb for cooking vegetables covered or uncovered. Vegetables that grow underground should be cooked covered; those that grown above ground should be cooked uncovered. Cook with a minimum of water unless you want to save the liquid for soups and sauces. (I’ve been doing it all wrong for many years.)
I guess there is some sort of hunting going on, so good luck hunters, whatever you go out for. Haven’t seen many deer here at our house. Hopefully they are hiding.
Keep an eye on the Sully for any events that may be coming up. I’m sure there will be things to give you something to do here in the County.
I guess that’s it for this week. Enjoy, whatever it is you may do. Have news, give me a call at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
